Hi Forum,

Was wondering if anyone can provide or confirm specific details on what front diff is supplied in the 2.0L long wheel base Pajero IO's? I assume they are all the same for 1.8L & 2.0L

I have been led to believe they are 7.25" 25 or 28 spline 29mm 4.875 ratio same as the early model tritons and L200 Delicas, can anyone confirm?

Cheers,

Simmo

..

The SWB NL Pajero my Dad owns had a front lokka installed this week and it seems to be running beautifully! On road tests in 4H did fine and off road amazing, will be keen to see how it goes in the wet on road in 4H and on the sand. Just got talking to the big Pajero expert (owns and works on Mitsibushi and Pajero as his profession) who did the NL SWB lokka and said he believes he can fit a lokka for the Pajero IO when I told him it's a 7.25" 25 or 28 spline 4.875 ratio 29mm.

But before I  get him to pull it apart and find out there isn't one to suit I'd like to get my facts straight. I've messeged Glen on Facebook and here awaiting a response now.

With tax return around the corner it's an idea I'm willing to entertain! In a perfect world I'd love to see custom sliders and front lokka come out of the return!

4.900

Hi Gekkotaku

Are you referring to your rear or front differential as a 4.900 ratio?

Having a hard time finding the front ratio, as far as I can see no IO / Pinin run  a 4.900 ratio front diff

Could be very wrong

Hello, according to
Hello, according to Mitsubishi agency my town my car uses a differential 4900, they mention that the differential is identical to the Pajero sport, so far only and measured the rear differential and is identical in shape and size, but so hidden that It is the front differential and could not be measured.
Similarly they say in the agency Mitsubishi spreads are compatible between models.
But in some cases they vary being higher or lower differential, this the way the crown pinion differential attacks or so I understand.

4,636 for the manual, 4,900

4,636 for the manual GDi, 4,900 for the automatic GDi, 4,875 for the 1.8 GDi and 5.111 for the 1.8 MPi auto, all ratios are available but diff changes on manual/automatic. Automatics have different and smaller diffs, Diffs from manual models are common with some other Mits models. 2.0L Mpi is country specific and you have to find the part# to know for sure

The specs for the manual models are: 7,25" , 25 splines, 26,6 diameter, 10 bolts

Hope this helps:
