Hi Guys,

Not sure if this has been covered or not so here goes.

Has anyone replaced the front brakes of an iO? if so what set did you buy and what did you pay for them?

Seem obviouse however, I orded a set of DB1239's but they did not match my old set.

After some more research I found that the brake I need is DB2058-HD.  They are very expensive for a set of brake pads.

Cheers

brakes

what are you replacing? disks or pads or calipers?

RDA were cheap and easy - DBA have been a pain in the past.

i got crossdrilled disks and standard pads for less than $200 delivered via RDA.

..aren't you selling your io or is that someone else?

Thanks for getting back to

Thanks for getting back to me. I have 2x iO and am selling 1 of them.

Just the front pads.  The DB1239's where much bigger than the original pads and could not fit into the calipers.

Do you happen to have a number for the pads you got?

Cheers

DB1239's sound like evo calipers - weird

I can look at it but mine were direct off the web catologue - doubt the 98 and 02 io's have different calipers or pads.

below are the big evo calipers you can retrofit and at the bottom (highlighted) are the stock io pads - are these the same as yours???

brake pads

The bendix DB2058 are the correct one (for my 2002 io anyway), they are the one I use. I paid around $100 on ebay. Shop around, some other brand do exist at 1/2 that price, but not every one sell the cheaper brand...

The DB1239 are for the rear of model that have rear brake pads (not in Australia...that I know off)

Thanks for getting back to me

Thanks for getting back to me guys.

Yes, the bottom pads look like mine.

I will order a set tomorrow, just thought that $100 for a set of pads was a bit pricey, compard to the DB1239's that cost me $25.

Anyway cheers again guys.

brake pad

Fully agree with you...way to expensive. My wife impreza costed only $65. The top picture looks to be the DB1239. Bendix site have the shape of the pads with sizes.

Happy io
