Hi Guys,

Ever since I bought the Io I've been using net-specs for wheel studs / offset and hub bore:
studs 5x114.3
offset +46mm
bore 105mm

Tonight I took one of the front wheels off to make a cardboard template of my caliper for clearance use when I go hunting for new mags etc and discovered something fantastic!!!

My ZR 2002 has a 67.1mm hub bore, the same as magnas and lancers and near on a hundred other vehicles, not 105mm as listed online!
I also saw cast into the inside of my mag wheel somthing else alarming, 16x6jj 48. Does this mean it's a 48mm offset wheel?

Tomorrow i'm off to the wreckers with my trusty cardboard template to check out some 16x6.5" and 16x7" factory mags from Lancers, Outlanders and Magnas - here's hoping I find a factory mitsubishi-brand mag that will bolt on for wide rim upgrades!

For reference below is a list quickly dumped from the net with all 5x114.3 cars with 67.1mm that pending brake caliper clearance should bolt on.

Crap, I had in my head all

Crap, I had in my head all this time that the std rims were 7" Im keen to see whay you find out now! Im realy after some7"s!

I knew the centerbore was smaller than 105mm just from changing the wheels and looking. but its good news to hear they are the same as, well, almost everytyhing :)

wish that list also had offset info, Ill get my calipers onto a stock rim and measure exactly what the offset is tomorrow.

its the same as my outlander... thats why i kept sayin if i dont ge the iO straight away i can still buy the parts for one for later down the track, coz they a very similar setups, in almost every way. only major difference is the gearing and engine components...

found an awesome option - looks really good, cheap (<$200 for 4), V-strong alloy and excelent offset to sit wide tyres and strut clearance.
Will divulge once I buy the set going cheap and confirm

tell us

Hell again Bob,

So what are they?

Sorry, I have been sending way too many questions, and you probably classified me as very annoying! sorry...

Since I found this forum, I can't stop reading it! I had my io for a few years but I too often got told "no mate can't do it...get a real 4x4" and been thinking to get another 4x4, but it can be done!

That is the last one (at least for today!), my wife is going to pull the plug!

Thank you,

All the best.

Claude/Claud io.

I think the one's Bob was

I think the one's Bob was talking about here are the FTO wheels he made a different thread on.

Size is not important; it's how you use it that matters!
