Hi everyone, first time posting with a real problem on my hands.

I have a H66W JDM import with the 4G93 GDI. Only 43,000 miles on it and in great shape overall — no leaks, well maintained. But the flywheel is clearly on its way out. After the engine has been running for a while, shutting it off produces a rattling sound, like something loose inside. Cold starts are completely silent. There's also a noticeable clunk when decelerating to a stop at low RPM. Both symptoms get worse the longer the engine has been running, which points to the internal damping grease breaking down with heat. Classic DMF failure from what I can tell.

I went into the amayama JDM EPC under Pajero IO → H66W → MNXC ZR,5FM/T and confirmed the OEM flywheel for my chassis is MR453954 (12.61 kgs). Here's where it gets interesting. The European Pajero Pinin H66W used the same chassis but shows a different flywheel sequence in the catalog — MR453954 up to Sept 1999 with no type description, then MR477385 from Sept 1999 onwards, explicitly labeled "DUAL MASS TYPE." The aftermarket options I found — EXEDY MBFD002 and LuK 415 0116 10 — both cross-reference to MR477385, not to MR453954. The thing is, both part numbers apply to the same H66W chassis, same 4G93 GDI engine, and weigh virtually the same (~12.6 kgs), which strongly suggests identical physical dimensions — but I haven't been able to confirm this anywhere. Worth mentioning: the H67W with the 4G94 GDI had a completely different HYDRAULIC TYPE flywheel (MR534368), so please don't mix those up when responding.

So here's what I'm trying to figure out. Has anyone with a JDM H66W or H76W actually replaced the MR453954 — and if so, did you go OEM or find an aftermarket option that worked? Has anyone successfully fitted the EXEDY MBFD002 on a JDM iO and can confirm the dimensions and bolt pattern match? Are MR453954 and MR477385 physically interchangeable? The European catalog shows MR477385 replacing MR453954 in September 1999 on the exact same H66W chassis, which to me suggests they should be dimensionally identical — but I'd love confirmation from someone who has actually held both in their hands.

Any Australian QA-spec owners here who have done this job would be especially helpful, since the Australian iO was JDM-imported and should have the same MR453954. Also wondering if it makes sense to do the full clutch kit at the same time even if the clutch feels fine and shows no slipping — or if that's overkill. And has anyone converted to a solid flywheel using a non-GDI 4G93 MPI flywheel? I've seen it mentioned on Facebook but couldn't find any actual documentation.

has anyone used a Brake Clutch Pro (BCP) flywheel on the iO? Curious about real world experiences, whether it fits the JDM spec, and how it compares to OEM in terms of NVH and daily driveability.

Any help is greatly appreciated. This forum has been the most useful resource out there for JDM iO specific information.
