Which ECU are you looking for.

Check under the dash on the driver's side - if you want the fuel injection controller - at least that's where it is on a right hand drive vehicle - but, quite seriously, Mitsubishi lists somewhere in the region of thirteen (I kid you not) ECUs on an iO with all the options.

I'd just get one from a wrecker - shouldn't be too hard to track one down as it's not a part that people would be asking for much. There are places that repair them but I wouldn't expect that to be much/any cheaper - www.ecu.co.nz does it (I'm in NZ - no doubt there's places in Oz that do this). If you want to go aftermarket there's lots of choices, but the price goes up to buy the bits and then tune with rolling road - unless you plan on doing major engine mods it's hard to see how that would be worth it. Are you sure your problem is in the ECU? If you've got a friendly local owner with the same engine they might let you do a swap test.

Lancer parts?

Maybe try a lancer ECU from a 4G94? I'm not sure if this would work, but it might be cheaper / easier to source than one for the iO.

Size is not important; it's how you use it that matters!

google "pajero io wrecking" usually brings ones up - there was one in archerfield 4x4 wreckers a while ago, white one too!

Be careful with swaps and non iO ECUs

There are differences that may be critical - at least match the engine size & type - 1.8/2.0, SOHC/DOHC & GDI

Fortunately Mitsubishi separated the engine ECU functions from other stuff, so, at least in theory, you can swap them.
