2000 Pajero IO / no 4WD super select lever / Dashboard screen query
Recent brought a Pajero IO from an auction because it seemed kinda cool.
2000 OI GDI 2.0L automatic 5 door model - amazing condition and only 170,000kms.
I have a couple of questions listed below:
1. My vehicle has no 4WD super selector lever installed. Does this mean it is a full time 4WD? or AWD? Or have I been swindled and it is a 2WD? I am having trouble finding information on this.
2. It has a large screen on the dashboard - this screen is not working. Is this an original GPS unit? The head unit has been replaced and new wiring has been installed that seems to go straight to the battery - the horn wiring has changed also - the horn is now a small button in a cubby hole to the right of the steering wheen. My feel is that someone has removed a control unit for the screen (or cumputer) and bypassed the whole system to make the aftermarket head unit work. I'm confused about how this screen was originally operated and what it was for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Turns out this particular
Turns out this particular pajero io is a full time RWD. It was registered as a 4wd but can confirm it is stock 2wd. Very confusing but kinda cool I guess.
Love it though - fun to drive and easy to park.
Keen to retrofit some roofracks and attempt an engine oil flush.. any tips?

It's most likely an AWD model.
I could be wrong, but I'm not aware of the iO being offered as a 2WD only model - it's fairly easy however, to figure it out, if you're knowledgable about cars and willing to get your hands dirty.
This is a drawing of the car from underneath, the item highlighted in red is the rear drive shaft, the one in green is the front drive shaft - if the vehicle has both, it is 4WD or AWD
